| Hand-held radar is the original stationary "speed-gun" introduced in the 1970's. Those "analogue" designs were unable to distinguish between vehicles coming towards or going away from the RADAR. Pro II and Scout 2 utilize electronic "digital signal processing". With DSP they can separate vehicles in the "target zone" according to the direction of travel. RADAR is electro-mechanically simpler than LIDAR: Maintenance and calibration is less frequent. New users can be trained to operated a RADAR Speed-Gun in minutes. |
